Defibrillator Monitoring

Readiness matters. When Sudden cardiac arrest strikes, an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) must be close at hand and ready to shock.

To make sure your defibrillator is ready to save a life at all times, regular checks are vital.

Defibrillator pads and batteries typically have a shelf life of 2-5 years, although there is usually an expiry date printed on them. However, they will need to be changed after use.

A display check will ensure that the components of the device are working as expected.

It is recommended that the device’s display be checked regularly to avoid any errors being missed prior to an emergency situation, where the AED may not perform as needed.

A full health check should also be done. Defibrillators need servicing and testing by a professional regularly, at the very least once a year.

It could literally mean the difference between life and death.
