Natural Rubber / Latex

▪ The most elastic material known
▪ Soft and comfortable to wear
▪ Excellent tensile strength
▪ Elasticity brings resistance to abrasion, cuts and tears
▪ Good resistance to all liquids that mix with water
▪ Resistant to alkalis, detergents and alcohols
▪ Not recommended for use with hydrocarbons, including kerosene or petrol
▪ Allergy: Note that some people can have an allergic reaction to natural latex rubber. These people should use a synthetic alternative such as nitrile, neoprene (polychloroprene) or PVC.

 

Nitrile (NBR or Nitrile Butadiene Rubber)

▪ Synthetic alternative to natural latex rubber
▪ Excellent resistance to abrasion, cuts and
punctures
▪ Resistant to a broad range of chemicals
including petroleum based solvents, oil, grease, acids and caustics
▪ Suitable for food contact
▪ Ideal for latex allergy sufferers

 

Polychloroprene (Neoprene)

▪ Synthetic alternative to natural rubber latex
▪ Good elasticity
▪ Very good tensile strength
▪ Soft and comfortable to wear
▪ Resistant to a broad range of oils, acids, caustics, bleaches, detergents and alkalis
▪ Ideal for latex allergy sufferers

Vinyl (PVC)

▪ Synthetic thermoplastic polymer alternative to natural latex rubber
▪ Suitable for food contact
▪ Excellent resistance to petroleum based hydrocarbons, most oils, acids, fats, alkalis and caustics
▪ Ideal for latex allergy sufferers
