In a 2-metre free fall, a 100kg person can generate over 15kN (1500kg) of force. The human body can only absorb up to 6 kiloNewton (600kg) of force without serious effect.

 

This means the force in that 2-metre fall must be reduced to below 6kN by a correctly fitted full body harness and correctly rated shock absorbing equipment in order to limit injury.
